SimpMusic 1.1.1, published by maxrave-dev, is an open-source, cross-platform music client that streams audio and video from YouTube Music and YouTube itself without advertisements or playback restrictions. Built with Jetpack Compose Multiplatform, the app runs natively on Android and desktop Windows, offering a Spotify-like experience while leveraging Google’s catalogue for Home, Charts, Podcasts, Moods & Genre browsing at high speed. Users can sign in with multiple Google accounts to synchronize personal playlists, receive notifications from followed artists, and cache tracks for offline listening; lyrics are pulled simultaneously from SimpMusic’s own server, LRCLIB, Spotify (login required) and YouTube transcripts, optionally translated on the fly through an OpenAI or Gemini API key. Playback supports 1080p video with subtitles, Spotify-style Canvas animations, SponsorBlock segment skipping, Return YouTube Dislike visibility, Android Auto, Discord Rich Presence and a sleep timer, while an AI recommendation engine suggests new songs based on historical listening data. Although the project is still in beta—five incremental versions have appeared since launch—the developer encourages crash reports via GitHub issues, email or Discord, noting that occasional YouTube Music server hiccups are expected. The program belongs to the multimedia/streaming category and is available for free on get.nero.com, where downloads are delivered through trusted Windows package sources such as winget, always supplying the newest build and enabling batch installation alongside other applications.
